XXVII Moscow International Film Festival
June 17-26, 2005

GENERAL PROVISIONS
Article 1
To promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding among nations and to develop further cooperation among filmmakers of the world, the XXVII International Film Festival ( MIFF) will be held in Moscow, June 17-26, 2005.
The Moscow International Film Festival is recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).
ORGANIZATION
Article 2
The XXVII Moscow Film Festival is held by the General Management of International Film Festivals "Interfest", hereinafter referred to as Management of the XXVII Moscow Film Festival.
The Festival is held under support of the Russian Ministry of culture and mass communications, the Federal Agency on culture and cinema.

FESTIVAL PROGRAM
Article 3
The program of the Festival will include:
- Main Competition,
- Competition "Perspectives",
- Program of Russian films,
- Non-competition screening,
- Retrospective screening,
- Media-Forum,
Article 4
Entry applications for the XXVII Moscow International Film Festival should reach the Festival Management prior to April 20, 2005.
The films for the Festival program are selected by the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee of the Festival finishes its work on May 1, 2005.
The film screening schedule will be determined by the Festival Management.
Each film may be shown not more than five times during the Festival including the press screenings.
The Festival program includes only films which have not been publicly screened on the territory of the Russian Federation ( excluding Retrospectives and Program of Russian films).
Article 5
Only full-length feature films produced after July 1,2004 will be accepted for the Competition programs.
Preference in Competition programs is given to the World and International premieres.
Not less than 12 films will participate in the Main Competition of the XXVII Moscow International Film Festival.
Films in standard 35mm format with optical phonogram may participate in the Main Competition program of the Festival.
Not less than 8 films will participate in the Competition "Perspectives" of the XXVII Moscow International Film Festival.
Competition "Perspectives" is reserved for the debuts, prospective and experimental films on any professional carriers.
Prints of the films accepted for the Competition programs of the Festival should be in possession of the Festival Management before May 22, 2005.
Article 6
Films in their original format of creation : 35 mm and 16 mm format with optical phonogram and films on the appropriate video carriers may participate in other programs of the Festival.
Prints of the films accepted for the demonstration in other Festival sections should be in possession of the Festival Management before May 25, 2005.
Article 7
All conditions and mentioned dates are obligatory otherwise the Management of the XXVII MIFF has the right to exclude the film from the Festival program.
DOCUMENTATION
Article 8
Duly filled and signed entry form for each film , confirming the participation in the XXVII MIFF should arrive before May 10, 2005.
Entry form must be accompanied by the following documentation:
- The dialogue list in the original language and in one of the following languages: Russian, English, French or Spanish;
- The list of subtitles in English or French;
- Synopsis, press and promotional materials
- Stills from the films and trailers on BETACAM SP.
- Materials for the festival catalogue, including a detailed biography and filmography of the director and the principal actors, a director's photo as well as slides from the film.
TRANSPORTATION AND INSURANCE OF PRINTS
Article 9
The Festival Management will assume all costs connected with the transportation of prints of the films selected for Competition programs to the Festival and back (AIRPORT of sender-Moscow-AIRPORT of recipient).
The Festival Management will assume all costs connected with the transportation of prints of the films of other Festival sections from Moscow to AIRPORT of recipient.
The Festival Management will cover all the expenses connected with the storage and insurance of the films during the Festival.
GUESTS
Article 10
All the issues connected with the invitations of guests, terms of their
stay and accreditation at the Festival will be settled by the Festival
Management.
Every film in Competition programs should be personally presented by a
delegate.
The Festival Management will cover round-trip tickets and 5-day hotel
accommodation for 2 (two) representatives of the films in Competition
programs (a director, an actor/actress).
Hospitality terms for other official guests of the Festival shall be
indicated in their personal invitations.
Applications for participation should be received by the Festival
Management strictly before May 15, 2005.
Duly filled and signed accreditation forms should be received by the
Festival Management prior May 25, 2005.
JURIES
Article 11
The International Jury of Main Competition ( Grand Jury) and International
Jury of Competition "Perspectives" will be set up to judge the films in
Competition programs.
Festival Management will cover round-trip tickets and hotel accommodation
for each Grand Jury member and an accompanying person.
The Festival Management will cover round-trip tickets and hotel
accommodation for each member of Jury of Competition "Perspectives.
Persons connected with the production or commercial distribution of a film
in competition are not allowed to serve for the corresponding Jury.
Participation of a producer in each Jury is obligatory.
PRIZES
Article 12
The Grand Jury will award the following prizes- Statuettes of Saint
George:
- The Main prize for the Best Film ( goes to the producer) ;
- The Special Jury prize ( awarded accordingly to the Jury's decision)
- The Prize for the Best Director
- The Prize for the Best Actor
- The Prize for the Best Actress
The Jury of Competition "Perspectives" will award :
- The Prize for the best film ( goes to the director)
The prize for the best film includes cash prize equal to 20.000
(twenty thousand) USD.
No prize may be awarded ex-aequo.
The Organizing Committee and Festival General Management award the
following prizes:
- The Special Prize for an outstanding contribution to the world cinema
- The Special prize "I Believe. K.Stanislavsky" for the outstanding achievement in the career of acting and devotion to the principles of K.Stanislavsky's school.
- The following prizes are also given at the Festival:
- The prize of International film critics jury ( FIPRESCI Jury) for the best film in Main Competition ( goes to the director)
- The prizes of Russian film critics jury for the best film in Main Competition and in Competition "Perspectives" ( go to the director)
- The Audience Award for the best film in Main Competition following the audience polls results ( goes to the director)
- The prize of the Russian Film Clubs Federation for the best film in Main Competition ( goes to the director )
- The prizes of Media Forum
The Festival expects that the winners will personally attend the Award
Ceremonies.
FINAL PROVISIONS
Article 13
Participation in the MIFF shall presume observation of all articles of
the present Regulations.
In case of any disputes which may arise out of the present Regulations,
only the Russian-language variant of the present Regulations is
considered authentic.
Festival Management has the power to settle all cases and issues not
covered by this Regulations according to the clauses of the International
Regulations of FIAPF for Film Festivals.
